He’s terrible and doesn’t deserve to be in the ufc again
He has to be having some sort of identity crisis, if he wasn’t already. Clearly he struggles with who he is outside of fighting, this is twice he has “retired”, IIRC. I don’t think he can mentally put it together enough to make a run, but fighting is probably the only thing he is good at. I hope he finds whatever he is looking for.
Yeah it actually doesnt prove Kevin is ready, considering he would be fighting somebody who probably isn’t ready to be in the UFC. He’s supposed to win, and it isn’t some magical idea the way he thinks it is. He would be better served winning 3 straight on the regional scene, but he probably won’t. Seems like he wants a shortcut.
What does dana have to lose…i think he would be a good contender series gatekeeper
I think the ufc should have a monor league, like the wef or whatever it was. People can fight there way up to the ufc or get kicked down
Ex-UFC Star Finds New Fighting Home after Failed DWCS Proposal
From Khabib’s Eagle FC to Dana White and the UFC… Kevin Lee reveals who he’s fighting for next.
Christopher De Santiago | 10 Minutes Ago
Kevin Lee is moving on from the UFC, at least, for now.
A big announcement is in store for the former title challenger, who’s been gearing up for his MMA return ever since he retired and then un-retired following a loss to Rinat Fakhretdinov in July of last year.
Lee’s Pitch To Fight On Contender Series
Details are scarce as to what happened, if anything at all, between Lee and the UFC to go their separate ways, but Lee did say he’d be willing to compete on Dana White’s Contender Series - where prospects fight for UFC contracts - to show he can still compete at a high level despite the injuries and losses he has endured in recent years.
But, the UFC matchmakers apparently weren’t having it, as Lee revealed Sean Shelby declined his proposition. No matter, “The Motown Phenom” now has another banner to fight under, signing with a new promotion on Tuesday.

Ex-UFC Star Slated For Bareknuckle MMA Debut This Fall
According to MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin, the gloves are staying off for the once-retired fighter as Lee has inked a deal with Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred FC, where he’ll be fighting Bareknuckle MMA on Nov. 15, opponent TBD.
No fights have been announced so far for Gamebred’s Bareknuckle MMA, but UFC star-turned-promoter Masvidal recently told Kevin Iole that this upcoming card on Nov. 15 will feature 14-15 UFC veterans, one just now confirmed to be Lee.

Kevin Lee now has two fight dates marked on the calendar to close out 2024.
Promotional officials confirmed to MMA Fighting that Lee will make his return to MMA at Lights Out Championship 17 against Thiago Oliveira, which takes place Sept. 28 in Wayne, Mich. MMA Junkie first reported the booking.
The card streams on Spectation Sports.
Lee, who is also slated to compete on the Nov. 15 Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA 8 event against an opponent yet to be announced, makes his first appearance in over a year after getting stopped in a second chance bout with the UFC against Rinat Fakhretdinov in July 2023. “Motown Phenom” will compete in his original home state of Michigan, and does so with a 2-3 record in his past five contests, and looks for his first MMA victory since a decision win over Diego Sanchez for Eagle FC in March 2022.
Yea that ridiculous head tattoo he got speaks volumes…

Lee tripping and slipping over the years has been entertaining.
His headkick KO over Gregor was brutal tho.
