I was hoping leg attacks would come back but nope. These guys can’t read the temperature of the room. I hope bjj eats their lunch over the next decade.

Back in the day there was a guy on the old OG named Mark Tripp who criticized the pussification of judo after WWII, when the USA turned it from an ass kicking martial art to a weak sport.

He would not be impressed by this.

I used to advocate for BJJ to be an olympic sport but then someone explained the bureaucrats that determine the olympic standard would ruin the sport like the did Judo. He’s right.

Fuck the olympics.

He was right. The IJC controls the rules and all tournaments follow their rules even though less than .000001% of participants will ever make it to the Olympics.

The lazy argument is that you are allowed to practice all techniques but most gyms will only practice the rules for competition.
