Nobody Could Take That Punch! The Fat Man with a Killshot - Eric the Butterbean Esch

Fair enough. . . I heard thru the grapevine Dan use to speak in third person. . . Or first?

"Dan doesn’t like that " - Dan Bobish lollllll

He was a warrior man.

He was so big and diesel that he could have played the juggernaut with no cgi.

But he wasn’t a real mixed martial artist.

He could wrestle and he had insane strength. That was good enough to win most of his fights at superheavyweight.

He wasn’t going to box Esch.

Esch would have made a mistake by doing mma with Dan.

Much love to The Bean.

DDP is a national treasure! That dude has helped so many ex athletes at their worst and bright then back.

He deserves a thread on whom he saved. Jake the snake, razor, buff, and so many more…

Great explanation of Dan.

I recall this.

He was stiff in his limited striking and seemed to wish guys threw on him just to close and try and take down.

In MMA who knows Bean is a fighter man and he has more than a punchers chance despite his stature and limitations.

Despite Dans wrestling you never really know…

Bean vs Dan in boxing Dan looks like Bart Gunn lol

Remember watching his first few fights on Tuesday night fights with Al Albert and Sean o Grady.
King of the 4 rounders.

Last I recall he got with DDP to get better.
I’ll follow this thread

Recently been delving into this channel.

This one is from before the others, 17 minutes, he does great work.

I hope others enjoy.

I’ve got nothing but respect for Butterbean. I don’t think he ever claimed to be the best at anything. He had a look and a gimmick and he took it incredibly far. He knew he was viewed as a gimmick and he played the role. He was the ultimate can crusher and that’s what people wanted to see, and he saw himself as a showman. He is from the worst, most backward shit splat town in Alabama. I had the bad luck of living there for a couple of years growing up. You know a town is bad when the rest of the state of Alabama looks down their noses at you. It’s actually an incredible success story.

He did a boxing match in cleveland against a radio shock jock’s sidekick that went by Dieter. He had a recurring bit called “dare Dieter” where he would do jackass-like stunts. I think he played football at Mount Union or something.

One of the stunts ended up being boxing Butterbean and it drew a really big crowd.

Anyways, that was what led to Esch and Bobish almost fighting.

They could have made some money off each other.

Obviously the stunts weren’t original.

I was a sparring partner for the guy in the thumbnail. His name was Louis Monoco. Shockingly strong human. Used to work for a moving company and lift furniture and large freezers and refrigerators up and carry them up flights of stairs like it was nothing. He fought a lot of (then) future and former world heavyweight champions. Guys even very casual fans of boxing would definitely recognize. He told me no one hit harder than bb.

I heard from several people that Esch was one of the nicest dudes ever. He was not allowed to compete in USA Boxing because he was too heavy so he just killed everyone in Toughman until they basically said he couldn’t do it anymore because nobody had a chance. So he became a fan favorite on undercards being featured as ‘the king of the 4-rounders.’

I just googled him.

He had wins over peter mcneely and kevin mcbride.

What was the last you heard of Monoco?

Wonder how that ole warrior is holding up.

I remember Louis Monaco well. It felt like he was fighting every week, and almost always against a hot prospect or former champion. It was clear he was just an opponent for them to look good against because he was a bodybuilder with a lot of “show muscles” that didn’t seem to help him in the ring. But yeah, I think Bean almost won by manslaughter.
