ildar and max are 1 and 2 respectively…
i don’t anticipate either of them having any real issues getting to the finals…
they do not like each other…
only wrestled once in the US Open finals when max was 19 and ildar went out to prove a point and he did with some borderline tactics that we all laughed about…
max has his man’s body now, so, i am hoping for a more competitive series…

these guys are scared of greco as well, but, it is wrestling content…

Max in the best 2 out of 3 against Ildar…
had to wrestle against gregerson who he had beat twice convincingly this season down at 60kg, but, gregerson looked strong at 63kg and huge and came to play… good match that max came from behind 3-0 to win 5-3 in the second…
blaze dropping who he did yesterday was pretty big… that kid is no joke… i don’t expect him to beat vito, but, it would not be the biggest surprise ever…
DT almost wore down against Hidlay… not so sure he is ready for valencia assuming valencia is doing the right things…
Marstellar (a personal fave) has JB again for 2 out of 3 (not a personal fave)… their series was good last year and i expect nothing but the same…

these freestyle guys need to stop thinking they can just jump over and wrestle greco whenever they want… you are gonna get hurt you are going to get thrown… it is not safe…

Finals started. James Green just crushed Pantaleo in first match.
It’s truly remarkable how different it is. When I was competing- at nowhere near the level
Of your boys- I remember beating guys in GR whom I would literally get demolished by in Folk or freestyle. GR is truly a different sport and really needs to be treated as such. Jumping into it without training gets people hurt badly in many cases.

It is why when I say people are scared of it and the peanut gallery gets so upset it amuses me so much…
I’ve seen poor kids from 8 years old all the way to grown men who wrestle Greco for the first time and have what could be described as a religious experience…

My text convo with max after his first match after telling him I’ve never felt better after a 9-0 first period tech…
Max’s body is breaking down on him now and he turned 21 in march…
Watching JB and DT doing the same thing at their age and visibly improving on recent performances…
Throw Kikinniou at 82kg Greco who is in his early-mid 40’s…
Max’s opponent Ildar mid 30’s…
Then contrast it with Blaze who is a legit 17 years old…
All that too say…
All the respect in the world to anyone competing at this level and that respect just grows to anyone who can manage the complexities of maintaining that edge for years and years…
It’s a bananas concept to think you are the best on this planet at what you do and to maintain that mentality for a real meaningful time is not even fathomable for most…
