Professional Fighters League (PFL) keeps taking Ls.
Former two-time PFL champion Kayla Harrison scored her second Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) win at UFC 307 last night (Sat., Oct. 5, 2024) when she beat Ketlen Vieira via unanimous decision from inside Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
A few hours before UFC 307, Harrisonâs former employer, PFL, posted a video on their Twitter of Larissa Pacheco upsetting Harrison in 2022, handing her only loss.
And they got rightfully cooked for it. âNo wonder PFL canât give away its product for free,â a fan wrote. âYouâre pathetic. What a dumb move to market your B league Champ,â another fan wrote.
Check out the ridiculous video below.
UFC CEO Dana White was asked during the UFC 307 post-fight press conference (watch here) about the dumb marketing attempt and clowned PFL.
âI think when youâre losing as much money as they are, fâking go for it,â White told the media. âFâking throw the kitchen sink at it. This guy just came out recently and said, âWeâre gonna spend more money than they did on the Sphere.â That sounds fâking brilliant. How many tickets youâre gonna sell? Yeah, theyâre not very bright. Yeah. So if I were them, listen, itâs all fair. Knock yourself out. Theyâre drowning. Drowning. They suck. I mean, theyâre not good at what they do. So, I guess you would just keep trying anything you can to make something stick.â
White is referencing PFL co-owner Donn Davis, who claims he is spending more money on Francis Ngannouâs return to mixed martial arts (MMA) than on the UFCâs epic Sphere show, which makes no sense at all.
You would think Davis would praise Harrison for her success in UFC, as she is the only homegrown talent he has ever had to succeed in UFC, but nope.
For the most part, the UFC head honcho has ignored Davisâ attempt to manufacture himself as the No. 2 promotion, but whenever Davis gets out of line, White dunks on him, and last night was another slam dunk.
No lies were told by Dana
These PFL pieces of shits, itâs not like Dana would ever bad mouth or degrade the competition.
NONE/
hardly anyone goes out of their way to watch a pfl show, much less checking out updates on their twitter pageâŚ
I tried to commit to watching PFL on ESPN +. Iâm shocked at how small their shows are. The show production is very low quality. It really comes off as a cheap (and gimmicky) product. They also apparently have zero marketing. Iâve never seen any ads online for them (I do pretty much only use web browers with ad block for things though) and the events listed dont even say who is on the card. Just âFeatherweights and heavyweightsâ or whatever. It real fails to pull me in. Meanwhile w/ the UFC, Iâll at least always know who the main fight is between.
