Netflix internal Memo Dismisses online ‘Chatter’ of Paul-Tyson Blackouts

Netflix is patting itself on the back.

More than 60 million viewers tuned in to watch the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight on the popular streaming network, a live broadcast from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Unfortunately, many viewers were left with frozen or blacked out streams as servers struggled to handle the increased volume.

“This unprecedented scale created many technical challenges, which the launch team tackled brilliantly by prioritizing stability of the stream for the majority of viewers,” Netflix Chief Technology Officer, Elizabeth Stone, wrote in an internal memo (via Bloomberg).

“I’m sure many of you have seen the chatter in the press and on social media about the quality issues. We don’t want to dismiss the poor experience of some members, and know we have room for improvement, but still consider this event a huge success.”

The event may have been a success for Netflix and AT&T Stadium, which drew over 72,000 fans for a whopping $18 million gate, but the main event between Paul and Tyson was widely-panned as “one of the great cons of the century.” Probably because both combatants juked and jived for the better part of eight rounds with no real drama.

Just another boxing s—t show, according to this critic.

A woman not taking responsibility for her actions?

I’m shocked.

My stream quality was shit. Just as bad as an illegal stream. Froze only for a second or so, but image quality was terrible the whole time.

Left wing shit platform is projecting blame and not listening to the actual public?

No Way Wtf GIF by PeacockTV

I have a Netflix subscription, but for most of the main card, I was watching an illegal stream because it was running smoother

And then, for half the main event, I just watched Antonio Brown’s live stream on X, because he was at the event and just filming the Jumbotron of the fight from his suite

Netflix are a shitty company. They pretend to care about social issues, trannies and faggots etc but at the same time show noncy shows with little girls shaking their ass and shit and also are quite happy to show a boxing match with a close to 60 year old man and they are proud of both things. Real evil shit because they pretend to be so fucking good.

I had pixelations throughout the event, the sound went out several times with multiple Max Headroom moments.

Sidenote: you are too old to be playing on the interwebs if you understood the Max Headroom reference.

I ended up streaming it from a different site with better results

I honestly can’t believe anyone here watched that. I had ten different people message me that night about it and not one of them are fight fans. It was like something Beyoncé and Drake fans would be in to.
