This might be a good fight for Bobby Knuckles to go out on. He accomplished everything one can in the UFC and has nothing else to prove. It would be difficult to get back into contention and he is not gettting any younger.

I remember in a training session I tapped from a guillotine that was about the most painful sub I’ve experienced. If you were just watching you wouldn’t think anything of it, but something about how my jaw was aligned at the application of the sub made it incredibly painful and I’m sure the guy I was rolling with had no idea what he had just done. Anyways I thought of that after this fight because there was confusion as to why Rob tapped so quick.

No, not even close. Jaw wired shut for 6-8 weeks at most. If at all.
I hope the best for Rob and you and if that works it would be great. I treated as many mandible claw injuries as I did broken necks from the Stone Cold Stunner and fractured skulls from Arn Anderson’s DDT, LOL.

This is why I tell my BJJ students that tucking your chin is not a valid defense against RNC and in fact is quite dangerous.
I witnessed a jaw dislocation (requiring surgery) and have had my own jaw pop (just popping sound and soreness for a few days) from “face chokes”.
Defend with your hands not your face.

Bummer, hope bobby heals up fast. I think Hazmat had a lot of leverage and he is very strong. Makes me want to think twice about prtoecting my neck with my chin against a strong guy
Rob posted today that his jaw is actually not fractured but his teeth are a disaster. He said it was a good excuse to get them “fixed proper.” Seems in good spirits and not nearly as swollen as one would expect.
