On the evening of December 14, the RCC 21 tournament took place in Yekaterinburg, in the main event of which Alexander Shlemenko defeated Anatoly Tokov. The fight ended with a split decision of the judges - 29:28, 28:29, 30:27.
Shlemenko managed to take revenge for the fight six years ago, when he lost to Tokov by unanimous decision as part of the Bellator tournament. Immediately after the fight, Alexander took the microphone and said: "I want to address Fedor Emelianenko. Fedor, hello to you! From a low step to your height! At least I stood there for a little while!
Thank you for everything, guys, who are with me! Despite the fact that we do not fly very high, we are still handsome!"
Then Alexander was surrounded by journalists, and he gave a more detailed interview about his victory.
"No, I am not happy with myself, I did not finish. But I am happy that I won. I knew I had won, but I was afraid, you know… The MMA Union - who headed it for a long time? Who kicked me out of there, being an adviser? With an announcement like this: “The adviser is the first to leave his post.” Do you understand what judges can do? And they did it back then, but here the judges are great. No questions for them, well done for not giving in to influence, in short, not bending.
Am I appealling to Fedor? Of course. And look, look at how much was said about me: “an unprincipled blogger, shameless, not at the right level.” He is the top! He said it on “Ushataika.” “Alexander is the top? He is the top for you.” Well, it’s nice to reach the high-flyers from a non-top level. No problem, I couldn’t knock him out, but I won.
I expected him to start wrestling, and I wanted to strangle him, to be honest. But he has a strong neck, damn, I grabbed him twice - you can’t bend him, he’s a healthy guy.
I wanted to finish the fight in the first round, then it would have been cooler to say hello to Fedor Emelianenko. The hello materialized, but not very cool. It’s good that Fedor Emelianenko doesn’t head the MMA Union, so I won. That’s what I can say.
