The UFC is Done for Almost a Month: Comeback w/ A Weak Card?

After taking nearly a month off UFC STILL can’t come back with a stacked card to capitalize on the anticipation of its return.

UFC OUT: 12//14/25 - 1/11/25

The final UFC event of 2024 is over with, and now we’re on to 2025. What’s in store for us, according to UFC CEO Dana White? Some pretty crazy stuff, apparently.

White teased the press following UFC Tampa with some of the promotion’s plans for next year, which apparently include more events down in Brazil and and into other cities the UFC hasn’t gone to in a long time. That’ll be a nice change of pace after another year of endless Apex events.

“Every year over the last 17 years, I’ve said, ‘How is next year gonna be bigger than this year?’” White said. “And some of the stuff that we’re already working on is … on multiple levels, not just UFC. We got Power Slap meetings going on down there. SLS [Skate League], which I own a piece of, did an event down there today, and UFC stuff is being worked on right now in Brazil.”

“We’re talking about Spain and and all these other places, not to mention Seattle and Chicago and these other places that we haven’t been in a long time.”

We hate it when White gets his other various projects mixed in with UFC news. 2025 will continue to be the year we don’t care about Power Slap, or SLS, or Nitro Circus, or any of the other extreme sport spin-offs being bundled into UFC promotion. Fortunately, White did promise some specific fight news that could knock our asses into orbit.

“I anticipate a lot of big fights,” he said with a grin. “I’ve got something in the works right now, it’ll drive you f—ers crazy. All you guys will be running around. I got something in the works that you will never f—ing see coming for 2025 that literally started to come together last night.”
