Tyson is getting a big payday.
Couple of observations about this video:
-
when they were putting on his headgear/gloves etc I seriously could picture clearly in my mind Tyson as a gladiator in the ancient times. Something about his demeanor and eyes basically said “I’m ready to die for this”; was pretty scary yet inspiring.
-
I don’t like how his boxing coach seemed to praise everything he did. Reminded me of the scene in Rocky3 when Balboa was training at a fancy gym with everyone telling him he’s perfect. I’m sure that boxing coach is very accomplished and has probably forgotten more about boxing than I’ll ever know but fighters don’t need “Yes men” and syncophants; they need someone to push them and correct them. Theres a fine line between prepared and overconfident and the minute a fighter thinks they are perfect is when you start straying into dangerous territory of getting humbled.
-
More of a question than a statement; was that a tens unit they were using on him or just probes to monitor muscle activity?
With all that being said, Tyson is indeed built different. However, from pulling up in the Rolls to training in a state of the art gym I fear he’s a little too far removed from what made him that animal back in the day.
Yeah Im just going to say I don’t agree with your Paul opinion. At all
I’m going to watch this fight because it’s free, but the age gap is a big issue for me, being in my mid fifties and seeing how my body has changed.
But Mike isn’t a normal person, he has as much experience as anyone ever has, and he still seems to have that monster in him that we saw in his early career.
I hope Tyson surprises me
Jake by rape
Tyson is my 2nd favorite boxer ever. He looks fantastic for his age or even someone 15years younger. Looks great, like in a still picture.
When OP posted the video with notes of how impressive it is, i watched, expecting to see a lot more than i did. They didn’t show anything impressive and to me, it gives me less hope.
He looks slow. It looked like he had a hard time getting out of the car at the beginning. He walked like he was in pain because he probably is.
When they showed the younger “professional boxer”, i was expecting some sparring footage which i assumed was going to be what OP was referring to. Nope.
The paul guy is a jackass but hes not johnny Knoxville agreeing to get in the ring with tyson on a dare/stunt. I don’t know shit about him but hes survived in the ring with guys that everyone assumed would smoke him.
If tyson knocks this dude out, ill be happy the fight happened. If there is any other result, ill wish tyson just said no.
Hes also on TRT (openly).
But he looks so Stiff and he will probably have no gas tank and not very durable is my guess but ya hes probably still strong as fuck and can probably manage a couple flurries.
Jake his cardio is gone, all that bulking up.
I am not in favor of the big 14oz gloves.
They should be wearing 10oz
Left hook body shot ko round 1 through 3.
Bet the farm
Just watched this highlight and here are my thoughts:
Paul has a VERY heavy right hand, which seems to be his best weapon. Decent combos as well and very long range. The long range might pose a problem for Tyson if he can’t get past it.
HOWEVER, Paul seems to have a slow jab; both in throwing and retracting. If he pulls that jab back as slow as he did in the above fight Tyson could follow that in and land a monster over hand right. He also seems to have a very bad habit of dropping his right hand away from his chin when throwing combos. Seems like that is an opening as well.
If he doesn’t correct those two things before the Tyson fight I can see Tyson recognizing those and capitalizing on them.
Just my $0.02 USD
Tyson doesn’t give a fuck. It’s kind of scary how short his fuse is.
Tyson’s open workout from last night with almost five minutes of him hitting pads. I watched it live and his trainer is annoying af but it’s the best footage of Mike imo.
Watched the whole thing. He barely hit pads and definitely not for 5 minutes. Did not look good, at all. This is going to be a disaster for Mike
Perry should be shot for the way he fought
If Tyson can back him into a corner early he can finish him easily. The longer the fight goes the probability of a 60 yr old man beating a 30 yr old man drops significantly. I still think Tyson gets it done, it’s all muscle memory. Jake hasn’t been in with the kind of power Tyson has and I think it will be shocking for him.
If I’m not mistaken, Tyson is training with Rafael Cordeiro.
Anyone know if there is an additional cost on Netflix to watch this or if it’s just if you have Netflix it’s available?
Holy shit check this out
