I remember reading that around late 1997 or 1998 that PRIDE tried to offer fights to both Holyfield, who would have been heavyweight champion after knocking out Mike Tyson and dominating him before winning by disqualification, and George Foreman, who was either just coming off a victory over Lou Savarese or had just lost a disputed fight to Briggs. I love both those guys but I don’t think I’d like to see either in MMA at that point late in both respective careers. But if they did fight, it’d be interesting to see Holyfield against Sapp in a special rules kickboxing match and Foreman Akebono, which is the fight they were seeking to make.
