Takadas wiki entry and Rickson

So he lost to Rickson at Pride 1 when he was 0-0, wins a fixed fight, loses to Rickson again with a record of 1-1 and then wins another fixed fight.

Were the Rickson fights fixed too, is that just a coincidence or did Rickson fight nothing but a bunch of cans?

I lean into this subject when it presents itself

My next Instagram clip is a guy talking about witnessing Rickson beat his children
^ not kidding

The only non-can Rickson fought was Funaki at the end of his career and this was a guy who was known for Pancrase but not regular MMA.

Funaki had more fixed fights than Takada

He made wise financial decisions

Rickson by armbar

You sure the guy didn’t just witness Kron’s last fight?

It wasn’t fixed but you could tell there was some kind of bonus arrangement for letting it go a certain length of time. It was either near the end of round 1 or 2 Rickson kept asking how much time was left while he was mounted (IIRC). Finally just before the round ended he finished the fight.

I think the same kind of arrangement happened with Cro Cop vs. Yoshida. CC kicked him a bit too hard in the leg and Yoshida went down. You could see this “oh shit” look in Cro Cop’s face and he immediately dived into his guard and covered up. There was no reason for him to do that unless there was an agreement to have a certain amount of groundwork take place.

ha, i once counted how many inside low kicks it took for Mirko to blast Yoshida’s leg off…

… it was either 8 or 9

So? Funaki was a dangerous opponent who actually hurt Rickson.
