If Tyson desides not to box but just empty the tank and blow his loadin the first can he catch Jake? Just swing hard and no mas when he is gassed.
In close with one of those patented uppercuts
Nite Nite Jake
No, its boxing. The paul has two giant padded jumbo fists to block his head with.
I doubt it, he’s 58. At least with MMA fighters seeing how “off” they look in the cage in their 40’s I’d imagine 58 is just too far gone. Holyfield didn’t have anything at all for Vitor. Paul would probably beat Vitor boxing. Remember how bad Chuck looked against Tito in that last fight? I think the age is just way too much to have a chance.
Tyson got ironed out by Danny Williams 20 years ago.
Danny has a worse chin than pat berry
Better strategy would be to hurt Paul to the body early and often.
Bring his hands down.
Tyson might be old, but he is an expert at his craft.
Problem is, he was always a great hammer but a bad nail. Teddy Atlas has spoke on it many times. At this age I don’t know if he has the speed, power, stamina and durability to be the hammer he needs to be to win. Unfortunately, if Paul smothers him and wears him out I just don’t see it happening, especially with larger gloves.
And Tyson’s power seemed to be generated differently than say George Foreman. Tyson was like a tightly wound coil, fast explosion, throwing everything he had into his shots. When he landed it sounded like a gunshot. Foreman had that thudding power where he didn’t even have to wind up much just land. I’m guessing Foreman’s would carry into old age better than Tyson’s.
Keep in mind I’m a little bit retarded though so take with a grain.
That’s a good point. There was definitely a difference in that regard.
Paul has power. Him at 27 vs a 58 year old FORMER fighter 30+ years past his prime, I don’t really see pulling this off.
Would love to be surprised and see him win but I think it will be relatively easy for Jake.
It still says very little about Jake. Any legit ranked guy his own age destroys him.
I don’t agree with this at all.
Tyson had an excellent chin.
And during his peak run, he did not show the frustration we would see from him later in his career.
Tyson before Jim Jacobs dies and with Kevin Rooney still in his corner, was a disciplined machine.
Later on as the substance abuse ramped up and he was surrounded by crooked yes-men rather than people who could keep him focused – Tyson indeed became more of a front runner.
IMO the first Frank Bruno fight was the last we saw of peak Tyson.
Rooney had been fired a couple months before – but we still saw that in-ring discipline.
He walked through a solid Bruno shot like it didn’t affect him – and kept his composure and gameplan even through all the holding.
Very different animal than we would see in the 90s.
Obviously Tyson at 58 isn’t peak Tyson.
But Jake Paul isn’t exactly a contender himself, lol.
If Tyson’s chin isn’t old, and he can move for 2-3 rounds… We might see something.
I hope.
Different types of power.
Foreman had that transfer of body weight power where he just sits on every punch.
In terms of PSI, a full wind-up Foreman punch was going to be “heavier”.
But speed is also a big part of the equation, and Tyson threw devastating combinations with power coming from every angle.
And he went HARD to the body.
Tyson has dropped a lot of dudes with just grazing punches.
Not saying he’s the most devastating puncher ever… but he’s on the short list.
well the slap did nothing
