Dana Vows to ‘Start Prosecuting OGers for Stealing’ PPV Streams

Saudi bigshot Turki Alalshikh, responsible for mending fences in the broken world of boxing, has a new plan to help combat sports promotions combat piracy, one of the big reasons organizations (like this one) continue to hemorrhage cash.

Drop pay-per-view (PPV) prices to a more budget-friendly $20.

“Trust me, we know exactly how to combat piracy,” UFC CEO Dana White told reporters at the “Contender Series” media scrum on Tuesday night. “I won’t tell you extensively what we do every event, but we go after piracy hard and you saw a few years ago we started prosecuting people.”

“That’s how you combat piracy. Start f*cking prosecuting people for stealing. There ya’ go.”

Streamers beware, UFC loves to make an example of its piracy busts.

UFC PPV events cost $79.99 and require a paid subscription to ESPN+, which may have pushed more fight fans to seek out unauthorized feeds. Competing organizations like Triller have also faced their share of pirated broadcasts over the last few years.

But eighty bucks for a PPV seems like a bargain compared to these ticket prices.

Who the fuck buys PPV?

There are soo many good options if you know how to use a firestick/chromecast, etc that it is outrageous to pay $80 for 1 fight.

UFC PPVs have been overpriced and watered down for years.

Don’t remember the last one I paid for.

The start of watered down cards when it jumped to Fox and the ever increasing price of a watered down PPV card is the reason I miss 90% of the fights. I will catch a big name when they come around on a jailbroke firestick.

Use to be a loyal every card, every PPV purchase, all live events in my state kind of fan. If it was some what more affordable besides the espn paywall then maybe…

One thing I do miss about living in America was going to the bar 2 minutes walk away to watch a paper view or boxing match. Way better Han watching it at home and I’m quite sociable so I made all kinds of strange friends

What’s stupid about the UFC model is that the UK and Europe basically get the PPV for free.

North America subsidizes the whole world’s major fight purses including boxing.

From what I hear Europeans pay a monthly subscription for tnt1sport for about $50 pounds which include soccer AND UFC/Boxing PPV and other sports rugby, cricket, etc.

The equivalent would be a channel dedicated to American sports for only $50 that include NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and ufc/boxing. It would be a total steal in my opinion and worth it to many.
