Fedor vs Arlovski 2 IN The Works

Our luck they’d all fight to decisions but you’d expect every fight to end in a ko. Definitely a good idea for past the prime fighters, 3-5 x 2min rds and 3 knockdown rule.

Casting punches versus how tastes my big peepee. This is a cash cow.

I think Datsik fought recently too.

I saw Arlofski in an arms sale commercial recently. He’s still relevant.

I knew Arlovski wasn’t done but I actually thought Fedor really was now. . .

In.

arlovski some how getting his chin back at the end of his career is one of the craziest things i’ve seen in mma

Arlovski single handedly broke the chin myth…

Datsik KO him into another dimension in his first pro MMA bout. . . . Then he would go on in like 2015 or so to get merked by Rumble Johnson.

Go the distance with a broken jaw lol.

To here now in 2024

The guy is a special kinda warrior.

I’d have to rewatch it but I remember Fedor having trouble with Arlovski’s straight punches. It reminded me of the first round of Cro Cop/Fedor where Fedor is missing a lot of shots from distance, Cro Cop was circling away and looking for straight shots.

He also “regained” his chin later on in the sense that it actually took a perfect shot to put him down, and not just a jab. Fighting into his mid 40s.

People talk as if Arlovski had a weak chin because he got KO’d.
It’s become a cliche that in itself is a myth IMO.

If you look at his KO losses for the first 20 or so years of his career – they all big dudes with serious power.

I’m not saying he had the greatest chin.
He obviously wasn’t Big Nog or Hunt.

But I wouldn’t call him a glass-jaw by any means.
He just fights in a division with some serious power punchers – and for the most part his game was to try to out punch them.

dude it got glassy for a while there. his fights were just waiting for him to go out cold.

Recommend rewatching.

Not saying you’re wrong… But it’s worth a rewatch in detail.

That glass jaw argument tho.

Arlovski was SLEPT in his very first fight

Here he is now in 2024.

If chins deteriorating was a real thing Arlovski would have been in a coma 15 plus years ago.

This.

Like onepunch said, Arlovski was never a Hunt or Nog. But he has a good chin. It also helps that he is mentally tough as nails.

It’s true he had some rough runs…but here he is.

IMO there’s too many variables to just throw a blanket over the conversation.

Generally speaking, we have observed that once guys start accumulating damage/KOs, they deteriorate. This goes for combat sports in general.

But everyone and every situation is different.

And the more fights you have, the more likely it is for something weird or fluky to happen.
