Shit yes I do recall this signing.

4th degree blackbelt in TKD .

Hopefully we see him in ONE or PFL.

Hoping he goes to ONE.

Have him win 2 there or so and line him up for Anatoly.

Talk about thin HW divisions…

Because Anatoly should beat Reug Reug’s ass.

Anatoly smokes Despaigne lol. Would love to see Despaigne in ONE muay tai or kickboxing where I think he could excel… Dude has no gas tank and ground game though so I really see no future for him in MMA at this point. Seems like ONE or Rizin would be a good fit!

Did he even last a year?

Anyone who loses to Austen Lane, needs to be cut…

I swear that 80% of the HW roster doesn’t even train.

This is what happens when you sign a 4-0 guy whose best opponent only had 1 fight.

Holy shit that’s insane!

The Austen Lane fight made it clearly obvious that he isn’t UFC level and doesn’t belong in an elite level MMA promotion. At age 36 he doesn’t have enough time to develop a ground game either at this stage.

Though to be fair, it was probably damn near impossible to find opponents for a HW Olympic medalist outside the UFC.

That’s also how Cain got in at 2-0 back in the day. They just couldn’t find people to agree to fight him on the regional scene.

True and didn’t really think of that. I was thinking the same case for Bo Nickal too.

Yep same, i drank that kool-aid too lol.

Excited Oh Yeah GIF

He fought like it was 1998 and you could get away with having very little knowledge of the ground game. He and his coaches shouldve known better; he wasted everyone’s time.

Hopefully lesson learned and he spends the next couple of years becoming a wrestler. Obviously a talented striker with some natural gifts, but that alone wont get you far nowadays.

I’m not familiar too much but 4th degree TKd Olympian and world championships athlete has wayyyy more than a punchers chance always.

Look at guys before like Steve Vick and Serkan Yilmaz and Zelg Galešić aswell. They have all been phenomenally effective high level TKD fighters.
