Does Roundtree have a history of maliciously trying to injure his opponents with illegal techniques and/or engaging in practices that are regarded within the sport of MMA as unsportsmanlike?
If not, the singular example shown is a split-second legal strike and there’s no reason to think his goal was to maim his opponent. Might as well bitch about Michael Page’s jump knee to Cyborg Santos or Uriah Hall’s spinning heel kick to Adam Cella, and then go change your tampon.

No, not at all.
I think it is worth mentioning, that I believe he caught a bunch of shit for it online because it caused an injury. The fact that he didn’t use it in his most recent fights is worth noting. Maybe he thought it would leave him open to be countered against Alex, maybe he is steering away from the strike as a personal decision. I don’t know, it could be guilt. He’s not a bad guy, never has been. His build carries immense power and when the circumstances that led to injury happen all at once, the result is devastating.

If I recall, he kind of showed regret about it on Rampage’s podcast, noting that he didn’t expect that, so that’s most likely why he hasn’t used it again. The other guy also recovered and has fought many times since.

So did i^^ …after the fight i thought that he paid his due…and i hope he wins his.nxt fight…after i saw him on jre i became a fan,except for this one thing,but he seems to have dropped that technique.i hope the gods of war will bless kallil again…
