BJ Penn and Anderson Silva. They werenā€™t scared of anybody and fought at higher weight classes and on short notice many times.

Agreed.

I wish Ken wouldnā€™t have gone to the WWF when he did and fucked up his body more.
It did help bring more attention to MMA, but we also missed out on a couple more years of prime Ken.
Ken vs Coleman and Ken vs Tank are 2 fights I wanted to see.

.

Dude ā€¦

Iā€™m a dumbass.

For some reason I thought you were talking about Frank Shamrock. I was thinkingā€¦ I would have known if he fought Bas in kickboxing lol.

Of course you were talking about Lobman!

Brain fart.

And I recognize your SN and you know your shit.

Yeah Lobman was legit.

If theres allegations you took part in worked fights that should exclude you from BMF conversationsā€¦thats the opposite of BMF

Who?

Didnā€™t Ken do works in Pancrase? Not to mention the Kimbo fight

Oh well I guess Coleman doesnā€™t get to be a BMF either.

Somebody should have told himā€¦

IMO UFC and MMA might not exist now if Ken Shamrock didnā€™t spend a couple of years in WWF.
Highest buy rate ever at that point and started an upward trend in buys from there. But Iā€™ve always said that I donā€™t think its possible to calculate the huge number of WWF fans that werenā€™t willing to part with cash for UFC40 so werenā€™t counted in the buy rates, but pirated it, both live and in the next few months after release.
It didnā€™t just make Tito a wider star, it exposed those fans to Chuck (who won by KO) and Hughes (who won by TKO), and Lawler (who won by KO).

For that alone, Ken deserves more credit and a higher status in the sport.

Damn manā€¦

Thatā€™s a really good point.

On a side noteā€¦

Iā€™ve actually met a handful of people who straight-up told me the first Ken/Tito fight made Ken Shamrock their favorite fighter ā€“ and for a couple of them, it was one of their first introductions to MMA!

No joke.

I realize itā€™s completely anecdotal ā€“ but something about that losing effort endeared Ken to at least a certain percentage of people.

I donā€™t count because Iā€™ve been following this thing from the beginningā€¦

But itā€™s interesting to hear what some people gravitate towards and respect/appreciate.
