I didn’t know K-1 was still around. I thought they were bought out by Glory, but I think Glory had major financial issues a few years ago.
Did Glory sell off the K-1 brand?
In.
I used to fuck with people at the bar. They’d play older K1 fights, but it always said LIVE in the corner of the screen.
I’d win every bet and hand their money back or pay my half of the tab.
thats our boy
I think the people involved tried to buy K-1, failed, and then launched Glory. K-1 has still been going all this time on a much smaller scale.
They had a huge event a couple years ago (Tenshin’s last kickboxing match) and then faded away again.
I did that a few times at this bar i would frequent for fights too.
When they said they were going to be shutting down cause the location was crap, those bets were pocketed the last couple weeks
Subbed
I hope K-1 manages to rebuild itself to where it was in the 90s/00s, its a long uphill struggle though.
Obviously its not gonna happen, but the best thing for kickboxing as a whole tbh would be if K-1, Rise and Glory just merged under the K-1 banner. That would cover pretty much all bases (good Japanese talent, good foreign talent, good smaller weight classes, good higher weight classes) and then they’d really have something to work with.
I thought Buk had retired to a Buddhist monastery. I guess he came out of retirement.
And unfortunately no official way for international viewers to watch yet again. They really need to get their shit together with that.
Seriously. I’ve only seen the prelims on YouTube.
