Randy vs Rampage who and why? please discuss

Randy was a grinder. I could easily see him stifling and tiring out Rampage if they fought in the UFC. Relentless pressure

And Rampage, for all his skills and abilities, was a guy who got frustrated fairly easily and wasn’t known for his fight IQ. Randy is definitely my pick in this hypothetical. And I can say this as an unbiased fan who didn’t much like Randy. Lol

And I got called retarded for saying Randy would win

Smh

That’s definitely one possibility.

Got to Liddell 1/3 times…

You got called retarded for citing a Jackson loss in 2018.

Rampage

The interesting thing is the two of them probably trained together at some point. Rampage was at Tito’s which was close to Legends when Randy was (occasionally) there

And what happened to Tito vs Randy?

Thanks for playing my guy

Look…

If we’re talking careers, Couture tanks higher than Rampage.
Multiple titles in 2 divisions.
Some of the most well known fights ever.
Was at the front of the learning curve for most of his career.

Peak vs peak…
IMO Rampage was more dangerous, especially talking LHW.

Couture could absolutely win a decision in the cage.
Rampage could also clobber him, especially in later rounds.

I do not think Couture would win in a ring.

And Pitmaster helped Chuck a lot. I feel like Rampage had pretty shit direction from coaches and wasn’t great at employing a sound gameplan.

Yeah…

Tito is exactly the same as Rampage …

Ok guys, I understand you love rampage. I love rampage too.

But a prime Randy is going to toss his ass to the canvas and GNP his ass to death and make him go home and rethink his life. And that’s nothing any of us wants amirite?

Irrelevant. If you’re doing MMA math then how’d they both do with Chuck?

Rampage was a better boxer, and was a counter puncher. Randy’s clinch advantage would have been slim, and his reactive entrances wouldn’t play well with Rampage’s counter boxing style. Randy didn’t do particularly well with counter strikers.

Rampage was very difficult to hold down when people did get him there.

Maybe Randy exhausts him. Rampage near his prime did quite well in long fights.

I like Randy, I’ve studied his fights and instructionals deeply. He’s just not as good as Rampage

Randy wins that fight 9/10

I didn’t love Randy either. In fact he was the only UFC fighter who was kind of a douche to us ringside at a UFC we were on the front row to. All the other fighters were awesome and let us take pics and what not.

Florian didn’t even know me and came out of the ring and gave me a hug all bloody after he won too! Was awesome

It’s a close fight. Rampage is more skilled and did better with their common opponents. I think it stylistically favors Rampage. People seem to forget the rasslers he struggled with weren’t clinch/greco guys, it was shooters. Upright posture striking and wrestling play into Rampage’s strength.

I’d say 70/30 Rampage.

Randy was my favourite fighter, but seen people say stuff like this quite often

Plus he’s a shameful cam-wanking bastard

Also on the old site someone said he didn’t wash his hands after taking a shit

Has rampage always been chill the way he is on his podcast or is it something with getting older? He seems down to earth which I never thought I’d say!

I’ve never liked Randy. The way he tries to articulate his promos was so annoying to me. Much more qualified than I am but still annoying to me.
