For an Asian, he actually looks very solidly built next to Alex. Alex is easily 230lbs there.

Well I’m no expert but I think it’s a lot like smashing bricks or something. It doesn’t necessarily translate to being able to punch. I’d guess (and that’s all it is) this guy couldn’t take hard body shots like that in sparring. It’s a concentrated effort in tightening his core. Much less probable during dynamic movement and if it wasn’t expected.
