Should ufc throw in a grappling match in each event?

WMMA is mediocre at best. Why not try to throw in a few high level sun grappling matches and gear the rules to encourage action over takedown and control tactics, sort of like CJI.

I think guys might bitch but once Joe six pack is educated he will like it

Fuck no.

Caged thai boxing would be far better.

No. I don’t want to see grappling matches while I’m watching fights.

So multiple combat sports on ONE event? Would be cool to watch something like that. Probably even pay PRIME money to view.

No.

I’ve always found mixed events to be weird.

Just do one thing and stick to it.

They do need to get rid of women’s fights though.

They also need to revoke their right to vote.

I don’t want to see men buttflopping around for failed leglocks any more than I want to see WMMA

No butt flopping. Make the rules to promote excitement.

Just a thought, carry on

Do they have enough Dagestanis under contract to facilitate that?

That would be enough for a decent break to take a piss and smoke a joint - I’m in.

It’s sort of like seeing a Led Zeppelin concert in the 70’s and Jimmy Page starts in with the bow. You’re good for a 20 minute break.

This all day.

As a 14 year BJJ guy I can honestly say that BJJ/grappling is not very exciting to watch. I mean, I know what is going on and I find it pretty boring to watch, imagine the average dude watching the fights who have no idea what is going on. It would be awful.

Kickboxing or muay thai on the other hand, would be sweet. Or maybe a high level boxing match now and then. I know it will never happen, but people understand getting punched in the face and it is pure entertainment. Grappling just isn’t that fun to watch, and this is coming from a grappler.

Grappling is terrible to watch. I kept seeing ruotolo vs Tackett was the best match ever so I watched it. If that’s as good as it gets then grappling will absolutely never be a spectator sport.

If we’re just going for entertainment, dwarves or strippers doing just about anything would be better.

I don’t mind mixed events. Like the old school ones.

MMA mixed with K-1 rules or Muay Thai is cool. But grappling is not fighting.

Mixed rules is fine but it needs to be fighting.
