So is Silva not the best because he failed a test, what about all of those tests he passed before? Was he clean and you’re retroactively applying this failed test to his previous fights? Wouldn’t that invalidate all other testing, including the ones GSP passed, who ran away when USADA really came in?
Double standard. The facts are, everybody is on something at the highest level. This isn’t a Rocky movie where you’re gonna beat the state sponsored juice bag that trains just as hard as you do, at the HIGHEST levels of the sport, with good ole grit and determination.

Somebody had a good point on the old forum though. They said GSP probably tried to get clean for the Hendricks fight since he knew USADA was coming, and he took soooo much damage in that one fight vs all of his previous ones, that’s when he realized he needed to retire.

Then there’s the fact that his style and success were much more dependent on athleticism and usually being stronger and more explosive than his roided up opponents compared to an Anderson type. Simply impossible for a “clean” guy.

I still think it’s funny how Hendricks basically got flustered before the fight and kept saying “GSP is just trying to throw me under the bus!”
You could tell he wanted to tear down the whole veneer of bullshit for everybody at times. Felt an asshair away from saying “he just knows how to beat those tests and knows I don’t!” which is what he was getting at lol.

He was great, but hes now 37, fat, has only fought twice in the last 5 years and is trying to fight at a higher weight class where the physical advantages he had over almost all of his previous opponents is largely negated.

Anderson trained in Brazil his whole life where steroids are a major part of life culture. They are over the fucking counter there. His team were obviously on it too. You don’t manhandle juicied up dudes who are also at the highest levels by being natural

GSP had one controversial decision to end his career. No controversy in any other of his wins beyond Hendricks. Maybe disappointing that some fighters took him to decisions, but clearly the winner in all of those fights. GSP for years responded that Fedor was the GOAT when asked. That is how a true GOAT answers.
