Yeah Dana lost this argument for sure. Kevin Iole alone was making way too much sense, especially with the “you just talk over us” line. There really is no argument for Jones being number P4P with 1 fight in 3 years. Dana is getting old and the yes men are sick of being yes men. Kevin has always questioned him, I’m surprised he is still allowed in the room.

To be honest, I thought this showed the amateurism of journalism in MMA more than it showed DFW cracking. They may not have liked or agreed with his response, but he gave one and didn’t deflect. Just because you don’t like someone’s answer doesn’t mean you should repeat the question. There is a lot he does that I disagree with, this isn’t one of them.

His answer in the end boiled down to “how can I do this to poor Stipe it’s his last fight” as if UFC fight contracts are somehow binding and they don’t skip over fights for injuries all the time, or that he has some great respect for Stipe who he treated so shittily that he wouldn’t even allow him to put the belt on him, laughable. Stipe should have been made to fight Tom to justify his title shot while Jon was injured.
