GSP is the GOAT!

If he needed to wrestle, he wrestled. If he needed to strike, he wrestled. If he needed a ham sandwich, he wrestled.

His loss to Serra turned him into a timid wrestlefucking bore. Any MMA fan who remembers his earlier fights where he fought like a man on fire feels cheated by the 2nd half of his career.

I will grant that he was dominant, but the last time I checked, MMA is a spectator sport. And if MMA were filled with a bunch of George St. Pierres, it would cease to be a spectator sport.

Now compare title defenses and overall comp, for the time.

There’s always bum fights…

If I wanted to see two sweaty men lay on top of each other for 25 minutes, I would watch gay porn.

And. You chose mixed martial arts instead ? What’s the difference ?

True, there is no difference when GSP is “fighting”.

Except actual action, even during the ground game. As I said, bum fights would serve you better then martial arts.

GSP blanket sm

Just add sweat.

You spelled Fedor wrong.

I used to hate GSP for always fighting safe. Fedor won and took risks to win. He gets my nod.

Too many losses. He hung around too long.

Fedor is an all time great. GSP is slightly higher for me based on the record and avenging his two losses.

GSP also dismantled Hughes in their third fight and that was after the Serra loss. Forgot to include earlier. For those who thought GSP was boring in decision wins there is not going to be anything which changes their mind. Fedor has been presented as an alternative for GOAT and a good contender. Who else would you propose?

The problem I have with Fedor is that he fought so many cans. Every second fight against an opponent that wasn’t worthy (Freakshow or different weight class).

Other potential GOATs didn’t do this.

As of today, I consider Jon Jones to be the best fighter ever. But he’s a shit human being and likely a closeted self-loathing gay man.

Not disagreeing with you, but one counterpoint to the naysayers is that GSP stepped up and took on Bisping at 185, for the belt, and finished him.

GSP fought the best fighters in the golden age of welter weights. He never ducked anyone.
