Is anyone excited to see 42 year old Stipe fight?

The “GOAT” of the HW division spent four years (the same amount of time since he fought last) fighting the same two guys, went 3-2 against them.

That’s a record of 3-2 in the last 6 years and 10 months.

Now he’s 42. Anyone over 40 knows how fast the drop off is for a regular person, now imagine a pro athlete.

I would love to see Stipe make Jones’ head explode Celebrity Deathmatch Style.

I don’t think it’ll happen and I don’t think Stipe has anything left to prove.

Not excited, but I think he has a much stronger chance of knocking out Jones than most people seem to be giving him. I think Stipe has at least a 30% chance. And if he wins, the odds of it being by knockout I think are over 50%…

I don’t know what chance Stipe will have in the championship rounds. He was slow against Francis and that was years ago.

I think he looked slow against Francis because Francis is explosive, and he exploded quicker than Stipe. Stipe has always had some of the fastest hands in the division.

Jones at this weight isn’t and will not be faster or more explosive than Stipe. Plus Stipe actually knows how to wrestle. Taking down Gane isn’t the same as taking down Stipe.

If Stipe looks even 70 percent of his old self, he will be a very tough fight for Jones, and potentially knock him out. Stipe has taken some damage over the years but has also taken long breaks, I don’t think he’s as washed as everyone seems to believe.

He won a trilogy against the old fat guy that eats behind the mic. Jones also beat the same old guy. Put the 3 of them in a buddy cop comedy and maybe you have something worth watching.

I hope I’m wrong but I think he’s just showing up for a final paycheck. I just hope he doesn’t get completely blown out of the water in the first two minutes.
