My advice to Stipe is to get interviewed by Steven A Smith and to call Jon Jones a nigger.
That’ll sell some tickets.
If it actually pisses Jones off, that would be to his advantage as well.

Would that excite you?
Stipe is weird. When the UFC had the big four, he was losing to guys like Struve on Fuel TV. JDS was coming off of 3 absolute wars with two of them being major losses where we took tons of damage, so he was massively on the way down, not on the peak, and still beat Stipe.
Stipe is a guy whose skill set always leaves him as a fighter who’s going to trade wins and losses at the top. He got a huge rise because the division all beat the shit out of themselves and fell off, and he came up at the right time. His win over JDS in the second right shows that, Werdum fought very weirdly against him, and it was after the UFC banned him from doing the walkout he wanted. His win over Maldonado was an early stoppage.
He beat an Arlovski that was a decade past his having won the belt, an Overeem on the way back down, and even his wins over DC we’re after he got old and fell off, after getting KO’d by him in the first place.
If he were in Pride, he would have been a Sergei Kharitonov level guy.
Nope not excited but if he somehow won that would be pretty funny
Im excited to see jones take him out in 1-2 rounds and see the meltdown on the OG lol. People screaming about PEDs and interim champs, blah, blah… Some retard will bring up Khabib.
No, but in fairness, I’ve never been excited to see Stipe fight.
The inactivity is what has made this fight of zero consequence to me. Wanted to see it a few years ago.
Neither has fought enough for it to be relevant. Does it matter who wins? JJ likely.
I guess he would get a fight
w either Aspinall (should happen) or Pereira (potential super fight for UFC).
Jones -lots of fun to watch, but just never expect to see frequency.
Alex is gonna snatch goat easy w his pace. He’s taking every fight, then saying he wants a vacation. Next day, vacation over, he’s making memes and taking fights on Instagram. Fucking great stuff.
I’m crying right now
No. We are not likely to see the best version of Stipe. I give him a 25% chance of winning. Jon really hasn’t been in a heavyweight fight though. He fought a terrified, off his game Ciryl for -what? A minute?
Jon loves to fight people outside of their prime. Shogun was champ when he fought him, but was he as good in the UFC as he was in Pride? He was a guy who aged super early. Rampage & Rashad- legit challengers were not at their peak. Rampage had a ton of injuries (lost to Bader and Texeira) and Rashad never really put together a string of wins after fighting Jon. Even Machida was 4-5 years removed from when he won the title. From there he went down and never really came back up. Santos, Gustafson and Reyes were his toughest fights. He has never fought someone younger than him. Not that Jon isn’t talented, he put a lot of names on his mantle that maybe looked better than the actual situation deserved. Just my humble opinion.
I am going to watch of course- but I would be so happy if Stipe wins. Jon is scared of Aspinall and it shows… and he should be scared of him.
Jones will finish stipe in 1-2 rounds.
Lol very likely. But it pisses me off a little.
Don’t forget the MWs he defended the LHW title againt.
The disrespect for Stipe has been crazy. If any fighter is gonna still be game at 42 it’s that guy. Everybody gets knocked out by Francis.
This is how I feel. Stipe didn’t look to have slowed down a ton the last few years, and he has been less active, which has probably helped. Stipe is an NCAA division 1 wrestler, and a golden gloves winner. On top of that, he won’t be afraid of Jones, and will try to engage him in a firefight. If he’s able to do that, he will have a good chance of winning.
Only thing is, I have my doubts about him fighting Jones after a 3 year layoff.
