Is DDP ready for Hazmat?

He’s saying it after last night’s fight, which is his most recent performance. You seem to be looking at his worst performances and using those to predict future performance, where as others are looking at his best performances to do that. The balance is probably somewhere in between but he has more good performances than bad.

in ufc ur as good as your last fight I thought he clearly beat Usman who is very good…Birns fight was close but Khamzat imo is better at 185 as an ex wrestler i can tell u cutting extra weight almost always backfires.Id favor Khamzat over DDP and think he will be a big betting favorite so if u think DDP will win bet

Yes and so did other people

I guess we will see. I agree he can catch anyone in the first round because he is the best wrestler in mma by a mile. But I think it’s hard to submit all the top guys so I believe he will lose to any top fighter he doesn’t finish in the first round. I could be dead wrong so it will be interesting to watch the fights.

Pains me to say American wrestlers absolutely do not transition nearly as well to mma grappling as these guys from the caucasus mountains. It’s not even close. Zero American wrestlers have shown the ability to wrestle for 15 minutes, let alone 25 so the American wrestlers that have had recent success have all had powerful striking. I don’t think Bo has that. Maybe he will develop it.

if u want to win money but on dagi fighters every time…american wrestlers for some reason become kick boxers .Khamzat uses what he does best is wrestle .American wrestlers should take note,.I root for Khamzat to lose but id favor him over anyone at 185

Let’s not forget this fight was in shady ass UAE. Will Khamzat even be cleared to fight Dricus outside the UAE

I felt Khamzat beat Usman and Burns 2-1. He even managed to take Burns down after being rocked.

Khamzat wrist and leg rides are the best in thr division.

I think wrestling has gone the way of other competitive martial arts, gaming the system at the detriment to the pure fighting art. A lot of the wrestling moves don’t really translate to fighting

Khamzat will brutalize DDP as well imo. But tbe further away he fights from Abu Dhabi, the worse he looks.

Is that why people always say Rob is amazing at TDD?

I don’t recall Yoel ever dominating with grappling or even doing much grappling in MMA. Despite his Olympic wrestling background. And Jacare is a bjj guy. There’s never been a BJJ guy in modern times to be a dominant grappler in MMA. Only wrestlers. Atleast that I can think of.

Bobby is washed to handle a fighter like Khamzat

Would’ve loved to see him fight someone like Yoel

Im no expert in anything, but it seems most wrestlers who transition to MMA adopt a BJJ approach when it comes to mat work.

These caucus-types have kept their wrestling mat work when transitioning to MMA.

I doubt it. He’s quick enough to give Khamzat fits. Izzy wouldn’t respect his striking at all.

I would still favor Khamzat as he would end things quickly if they get to the ground. I just like Izzy’s odds on the feet to straight KO Khamzat over any other top 10 MW.

Izzy’s been backed up again the fence by far worse wrestlers than Chimaev. He also has a bad habit of tripping over his own feet in crucial moments.

My love for Izzy is well documented but unless Izzy can keep Khamzat’s hands off him, that won’t happen. Literally if he grabs Izzy at all, he will submit him. There is a chance Izzy can evade with footwork and counter Chimaev until he gets tired, but he can’t make any mistakes. We saw how far he was when he shot on Whittaker. His speed and explosiveness is crazy. Now if he can’t get Izzy, we all know what happens. He gets picked apart until he is too tired to take any more damage.

For some reason guys like Yoel with great wrestling schools seem to think they have to strike instead of using their advantage. It is a mystery to me … Cejudo did the same thing to a degree. Khabib on the other hand stayed true to his background and was unbeaten and took almost zero damage doing it.

Yoel was the most mind-baffling example of that. It made seemingly zero sense not to wrestle!

And even when he took guys down, he never chose to/was able to control them. It was really strange.
