Him fighting Alex would be more meaningful imo for both Jones legacy and the lhw picture of goat status.
I never wanted Jones to move up weight.
Aspinall seems like a flavor of the month fighter, nothing legendary or amazing about him.

I recently rewatched the Aspinall Arlovski fight and Andrei was landing shots. Old washed up Andre.
Yeah, I actually agree with Jon on this one…I’d rather see Alex vs Jones over Jon vs Tom.

The early betting odds had Jon as a -600 favorite against Alex and a +130 underdog against Aspinall last I checked so its no surprise for anyone who is familiar with him why he doesn’t want to be in that position

I’d love to see that too but I can’t see it happening. Miocic is too old & he’s been inactive for far too long. But then, Jones is coming off his own long layoff & a major surgery so he might be shot too.
If Jones beats Miocic & wants to fight Alex he should relinquish the title first. Aspinall has been waiting long enough. Then if Alex bears Jones he can be given a shot at Aspinall.

Alex Vs jones is completely pointless from the point of the fight actually being competitive, imo. It’s why people are clowning jones/stipe.No one is expecting it to be competitive.
