LytesOut: Career Deep Dive - The Machine "John Lober"

John Lober is one of the sports biggest mysteries; his body of work isnt lengthy, but the fighters that he competed against are considered to be some of the world’s best.

When researching John and speaking to his contemporaries, the stories of both inside and out of the cage were always intense and often times difficult to believe.

John Lober comes to us and gives us a raw look into a man that many today both still fear and respect.

Bad ass. Was he the first guy to beat Frank when Frank was famous?

You could also argue that he would have had his hand raised against Zinoviev

It was a brief period, but you could argue that at 1 time he was the best in the world at his weight class

I’m really digging it so far. I’m a little over an hour in. He’s pretty cagey and guarded at times, but he also seems like a pretty straight shooter and he doesn’t seem to have any bluster in him.

Lober sounds sort of stoned. I guess he had enough fighting

Memoirs of a Machine on YouTube shows how nuts Lober, Brink and their crew were, brutal fights, boxing in parks and in the desert. One dude Lober brought to an apartment to have a street fight , he kept getting smashed in a parking lot and they kept hyping dude up to go get fight more

Lober talked like a guy who has seen, done and been around a lot of shady shit in his life. Really enjoyed the episode

He basically admitted to calling Frank Shamrock all night before the Brazil fight. How is he more credible than Frank?

Please post a review of his book

IMO Lober is a forgotten name that at one time was one of the best in the world
