Cain stumbled with ever big hit from Kongo. He won though.
His chin is ok. I’d love to see how he reacted to a Stipe punch.

Stipe objectively had better competition during their title runs
DC, Overeem, JDS, Francis, Werdum (the same one who had just smashed Cain the fight before)
vs.
JDS, Brock, Bigfoot
The EPO accusations were around on the UG pretty early in his UFC career.
Overeem was 1000 years old, and so was Werdum.
Werdum was a perfect stylistic matchup to beat Cain, but he also went 4-4 after that fight. The Cain win was a good signature win in the twilight of his career. That’s Stipe’s best win.
Bigfoot has just smashed Browne and Ubereem. He was a very dangerous challenger.
The carcass of jds Stipe beat was a shell of the man who fought Cain. Not a single one of the people Stipe beat was in his prime, except maybe DC. And many were years removed.
Yeah something happened there. Whether it was USDA or injuries from training like an idiot (strength and conditioning wise).
Honestly though I think Cain could easily have been clean. Werdum showed up in better shape and acclimated to the altitude better. Werdum showed you can’t be a world champion who’s only skills are wrestling and cardio if you’re fighting a guy in better shape than you who actually has a guard.
Werdum time gif
I don’t remember that but either way I don’t buy it. Even if he did, a lot of other fighters did/do too. So in that case we should say he was fighting other juiced fighters and still beat them.
Werdum was in his prime seeing as he was literally the champion and putting on the best performances of his career.
Everyone else was still good enough to be the #1 contender. That’s not what washed up is. Washed up is present day Tony Ferguson.
But your quote was that Cain had a much tougher division to deal with. DC and Werdum alone dispel that.
that fucker ruined Cain’s career.
doing leg extensions super fast with maxed out weight

Is it a surprise he had knee and back issues that ended his career? nope
so i’m from the bay area. grasso use to advertise on urinals. especially at this bar the brit. i’ve pissed on his face countless times.
I remember the brit. Used to hit that place up Thursday nights during my college days
Cain all day. Better grappler, striker and overall fighter.

Right. I never said they were washed up, I said they were past their prime and the division was weaker.
Werdum was in a weird spot of being well past his physical prime but technically the most skilled he’d ever been.
I don’t think beating DC, who he lost 2 of 3 fights to IMO, is as valuable of a win as you do. Maybe that’s our fundamental disagreement.
Fighters were doing EPO because it was hard to test for. I believe Chael did it and never actually got caught.
