I donāt get the Stipe love. Heās not the best hw of all time, heās not a great striker, heās not a great wrestler, heās not a great grappler.
Heās just kind of good enough at any of those to beat someone who is bad at one or is 5 years past their prime.
He gets so much credit for beating my favorite fighters when they were over the hill that I want to see him get beat up now that heās old.

I just canāt imagine rooting for Jones.
I donāt care who his opponent is ā but this time itās a guy in his 40s, coming off a loss and a 2 year layoff.
Just another example of Jones trying to legacy pad after he avoided moving up to HW for years.
Years when there were some serious challenges there.
Fuck all that.
He can go down as the best LHW ever.
He doesnāt belong in the HW conversation, regardless of what happens in this fight.
He could have moved up a long time ago and he didnāt.
I donāt appreciate the the blatant legacy move.

Jonesā body looks sloppy at weigh-ins. He looks to be in worse physical shape than myself. Probably wonāt matter as his skill level is well above Stipeās. I am rooting for Stipe. If he can reproduce the game plan of the first Ngannou fight it could be good for him.
Neither does Stipe though.
Jonās better than him at every aspect of MMA. He deserves to win.
Stipe has an unearned legacy IMO. He doesnāt deserve to be in the HW goat talks at all, and if he loses to Jones people will stop saying he does.
Itās more a problem of Stipeās fans than him

To be fair though, some of the previous era LHWs Jones beat on his initial run were on the downside themselves.

People like him because heās an affable firefighter and in this post Ronda and Conner era every casual fan calls whoever is champ now the best ever.
Even now when you Google it most results say either Fedor or Stipe. Thatās crazy to me, that Stipeās even in that mix. He belongs below Randy, probably quite a bit lower.
True, but he didnāt lose. And his division was strong, even if there were vets at the top.
Jones has my body type. Except he is taller and blacker. Not a good look

Regardless, I canāt see rooting for Jones just to spite some Stipe fans.
