‘We Won’t know’ if Sphere Works for Fights Until AFTER Noche

Answer: No. No it did not.

It was for sure awesome for anyone there live I’m sure. Sphere is cool.

I’m not really convinced by this sphere thing.

What’s the value of having video playing 360 deg all around you when trying to watch a band on stage or a fight? Seems like a gimic that doesn’t really add anything to the show. Perhaps there are good ways to use it but I cannot see it at this point.

It’s very gimmicky, and all the intros added like an hour plus to the event.

The event ran way too long. They should have started it two hours earlier to allow for the hokey video clips.

When’s the next clown nose event?

Which cultural event will we honor next time?

Hatians eating cats?

It’s Dolan’s new pet project since the Knicks are finally successful without his meddling henchmen running the show.

Imagine Dana and Dolan butting heads…

Did you enjoy the “films”?

DC was being his usual shill self calling for an Emmy every 5 minutes. I thought they were kind of hollow, like a grade 5 presentation on the history of Mexican fighting or something but with big budget sub-par CGI.

No doubt they blew people’s minds in person because the Sphere is amazing, but that doesn’t make them good.

I was blown away by the earth documentary there but if you watched that shit on TV at home it would just be the lamest story of all time.

they played video in between the fights, like little history lessons on mexican fighting culture, the aztecs, mayans, etc… then during the fights, there would be a ‘mexican background’ that would stay still during the fight, kind of like in streetfighter or mortal kombat… so they had an amazon jungle type one, aztec temple, mexican villa like you see in red dead redemption, etc…

it was different, but not $3,000 a seat different. when they lowered the ticket prices, the cheapest ones were $800, on the floor, to the side of the cage, and with a little note *sphere experience views are very limited from this section… like the $2,200 seats 300 rows up are the better seats to be had…

I was there for the opening night of Dead & Co’s residency at it was fucking awesome.

Great for concerts, but I can’t see live sporting events being good there the way the place is laid out.

For $900 you could have had a UFC floor seat and a ticket for the earth documentary at the Sphere.

Or for $3,000 you could have both a shitty UFC seat and a shitty Sphere video experience.

It’s like a shitty, overpriced IMAX experience but instead of a hundred million dollar budget production movie you get to watch cultural appropriation graphics.
