Would Fedor have been a bigger bust in the UFC than Cro Crap?

Apart from middleweights called hendo, who iron him out

Or the counterpunch in strikeforce

Besides other guys from Pride, all the UFC really had to offer for most of Fedor’s prime is Arlovski, Sylvia and maybe Couture who would probably keep his ass at 205 in that case lol.

I think much of his career would have only gone easier. He wouldn’t get to murder a Zulu from time to time but he also wouldn’t have Nog or Crocop. We would get tired of watching him can crush Assuerio Silva and Tre Telligman types between beating up Sylvia and Arlovski 3x per year.

Fedor won five fights after Pride ended before losing to Werdum? Without looking it up. Hong Man Choi, Lindland, Sylvia, Arlovski, Brett Rogers? So he comes over to UFC, beats Randy, Gonzaga, Big Nog, Lesnar, and Mir, then loses to Cain or JDS, Bigfoot, and Werdum to call it a career?

Early Fedor would’ve done well. Post-Rasputin Fedor would’ve been a disaster.

Starting around the Rogers fight Fedor just stopped grappling. And when he did grapple his wrestling was fairly weak. It makes me wonder if he had some kind of injury his team didn’t reveal.

Fedor and Igor should have dropped to lhw

I think Igor did at one point

The Fedor that smashed Herring smashes everyone in the world at that time. Crocop failed because he had zero ground game. You couldn’t survive the UFC back in the 2000’s without a good ground game. Even the best strikers at the time had either BJJ or wrestling in their arsenal.

One thing that always came up was that once he became orthodox Christian, he was doing a lot of fasting. You could see his upper body start to lose mass over time. He also finally lost at Sambo to a guy he had previously beaten. Look up a few posts about he just easily goes full WWF wrestling buddy on CroCop and Nog, and that ability just kind of went away

Igor fought a few times at 205. He was in the 205 GP in 2005

Hmmm, I think 2004-2005 Theodore (Fyodor) would muscle out of any submission attempt by Werdum. Fedor smashes his face to jelly. He can knee him to the face and soccer kick remember

Theodore wins!!!

If we’re talking about peak Pride era Fedor, he goes to the UFC and runs the table.

Couture would have been interesting because Randy was so much better in a cage and always had a good gameplan that he stuck to.
But 5 rounds would be too long for Couture to survive IMO.

Fedor would have always been a bad matchup for Mir no matter the environment.

And we saw Sylvia/Arlovski – after Fedor was already showing signs of losing his edge.

If we’re talking Strikeforce era Fedor that lost to Werdum and Bigfoot – he would have likely suffered a similar fate in the UFC at that time.
Not because those guys were better than peak Fedor – but because Fedor had already stopped training hard and taking things seriously, had fallen in love with his hands, and religion had overtaken his hunger to be the best.

I’ll still take peak Fedor in the Pride ring over anyone, ever.

There’s no such thing as unbeatable, and nobody would run the table vs all of the greatest ever in a time vacuum.
But IMO Pride era Fedor does better vs the field than anyone else.

He had it all.
