I don’t care if he fights Stipe. I do have a problem with it being for the UFC HW title though. The fact that Jones is still carrying around the belt when his title win was over year and half ago and he refuses to defend it against the current interim champ is ridiculous. It makes him and the whole organization look silly.

Jones doesnt need to fight Aspinall to be the GOAT. He’s on some real GOAT shit fighting the GOAT Heavyweight. Lets say Bones takes out Aspinall in two rounds, then everyone says he should have fought Poatan. The list will never end until he loses if he loses. Same shit with Mayweather. Bones is a GOAT and he does what he wants to do.

His fighting career is almost old enough to vote.
He’s not scared of Stipe, who’s older than him and worse at everything. He’s certainly not scared of Tom Aspinall.
It’s unfortunate that he’s in a position where he can hold the entire division up waiting for fun legacy fights, but it is what it is. That hw division has been a joke forever.
Tom’s the only one who is allowed to think Jon is scared of Tom Aspinall in my opinion. He is of course going to think Jon is ducking him because he wants the money and deserves a crack at the undisputed belt. But the reality is he’s just not done enough to have the opportunity to fight Jon. Not like there’s any more he could have done.
Jon’s at the end of one of the most impressive careers in the sport. I hate the dude. But I’m not going to pretend he’s a coward if he doesn’t get excited about fighting Tom Aspinall when people genuinely think Stipe is the hw goat and Stipe is willing to fight him

fedor and jon are for sure at the top of the heap. and for a few years i think cain beats both. but i’ll never know. prime cain might have been the scariest ever.
as far as his legacy it already stands. if his end is just fighting stipe it’s not the goat way to go out but it doesn’t negate his career. he’s never lost. say what you will but a dq and decisions we may disagree with just don’t count.

While it’s true that most fighters probably do, it can’t be held against their legacy unless they actually pop. Many will always hold this against Jon.
