But he’s been dominant for so long.
Depending on how you feel about him, there is any number of asterisks you can put to his reign, but he’s still won fights against some legendary names.
Aside from that Vitor arm bar, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him in serious trouble. Sure you can say he should have lost a fight or two via dec, but he was never dropped or rocked I don’t think.
Pretty remarkable looking at his resume, you’d think at least one guy would’ve put Jones away, at the very least put him in serious, serious danger.
He’s a once in a generation fighter.

I was really close to finally giving him his due but this Pereira cash-in and blatant duck of Tom on the way out has soured me… and souring me, the true GOAT, is not advisable.

Demetrius and Jones didnt leave it to speculation, they showed up every single time.
Injuries, fluctuations in motivation, opponents dedicated to figuring out your style, etc. Just pure luck of a random punch or slip in the octogon (like GSP and Serra).
You have to just respect the pure numbers from those two.

Jacks joker looked truly terrifying. He’s the closest looking to the animated series.
Jones isn’t willing to risk his legacy over Tom. I would love to see it, more so than Peirera but I get why he’s picking Alex over Tom. Easier route to victory. It’s too bad Stipe didn’t get injured, Tom was the replacement.

Before last night Jones had fought only once in almost 5 years so it kind of felt like he had basically retired to me anyway.
