Jones legacy is ducking a killer HW division until most of them were either retired or almost done – because he KNEW he would lose if he moved up sooner.

Shogun had the biggest win of his career the fight before, knocking out lyoto. Jones was on short notice and a relative newbie in the title scene. Only stepped in because Rashad got hurt and they needed someone on 6 weeks notice.

Shogun was definitely past his prime by the time he got to the UFC; he had gone thru multiple knee surgeries and you can see his style change from it; much less kicking, not as explosive or dynamic. It ismt really debatable, that is just known.
