Pereira wants to move down to 185 and fight DDP after Rountree, mistake?

  • he’s in his late 30’s and should stop cutting to 185
  • Ankalaev is 17-1-1 and is continually being skipped over for LHW TS
  • DDP probably has better grappling than Ank and definately has better submissions

I think this is a dumb move by Pereira, he has a good chance of beating Ank, and should stick around at 205 and eventually go up to HW to attempt to become a 3 weight champion. The move to 185 will weaken him, DDP is strong af and has a good chance of submitting him.

i don’t know how he ever made that cut to begin with.

Dumbest shit in the world

Why not?
It’s not other people’s problem if he chooses to cut that much weight. If he wants to and can weigh in at 185, then let em bang.

I appreciate that he gives no fucks.

I think it’s a tactical error that may backfire. What’s the point of regaining the MW title at his age? He should move up if anything and try to make history becoming the first 3 weight UFC world champ.

I think DDP might win just by making it the the 5th round. Alex should be going up not down

The UFC is dropping the ball bad by not pushing a Jones vs Pereira heavyweight fight. They could market it as the guy who took over the division when he left and is now chasing him down at heavyweight to be the first 3 division champ.

Instead we get AP vs Rountree, fun, but who cares, and is Rountree wins, it kind of delegitimizes the entire division, and Jones vs Stipe which at this point does zero for Jones, because EVERYBODY has written Stipe off, and not even the UFC hype machine can fix that.
