Jones thumbed Stipe in the eye

I remember Jones using the hand up eyegouge defense to stop Rampage from closing distance and Quinton just looking at the ref like why the fuck are you letting him do this?

Yep.

His lawyer would have to be the one to explain.

was a time during round 2 (maybe ?), once stipe got his full guard back, jon had stipes arms tied up and head butted him right below his chest, looked way more then just pressing his head, was a strike

Makes no difference really! Jon would had won poke or no poke.

watched the video of this punch, ill post it too
the jab was coming straight at stipes face, dead center, he slipped to the left, to avoid the punch, and this is how it landed

youtube can play this in slow mo if u click the gear icon

There were plenty of suspensions before, during, and after the Lance era. He wasn’t the only one being tested. He was just the most high profile and his team had the best methods to avoid it.

Gotta keep your distance from these sweaty animals.

I don’t really care about this too much. Stipe tried to touch the back of Cormier’s head he eye gouged him so bad in their third fight.

Did you forget that that was revenge for Cormier deliberately eye gouging Stipe in the first 2 fights and Daniel was doing it yet again in the third?

Yeah it was pretty embarrassing for both of them.

AND after all that Cormier whined about it in interviews.

It seemed to me Cormier was weaponizing eyepokes. Stipe finally said fuck you Ill eyepoke you back if you dont stop.

Cant fault him for that.

That whole thing with DC, especially with him whining when Stipe finally eyepoked him back, made me lose all respect for DC.

The Ricky Hatton approach. He said that if someone fouls you, foul them back hard and they will stop. He said this specifically going into the Kostya Tszyu fight. KT would get dirty when things weren’t going his way and Hatton knew it. This is what happened… Hatton nipped KT’s deliberate low blows in the bud…

That trilogy really was the end of both of their careers. Cormier retired and Stipe looked like shit in his next fights and should have retired.

I actually used to like Cormier before the Miocic trilogy but lost my respect for him after all the deliberate eye gouging and then all the whining after Stipe did it back to him just once in revenge.

It took you that long?

Wasn’t Hatton always guilty of clinching? I just remember some fight where he would punch, clinch, hold until the ref broke them up. I hated him ever since.

I strongly dislike Jon but I can’t hate on him for using oblique kicks and foot stomps. In fact, I like foot stomps. Both are legal. The eye pokes are a different story.

He is notorious for this, it’s stupid to defend it. He begged for the eye poking gloves and got them. If he wanted to avoid poking someone in the eye he could maybe turn his wrist like most do, that way the thumb is facing down and his fist covers more of the face on contact.

Definitely one of the dirtiest fighters I can remember in the sanctioned days. Now if you go back further you have ball punchers so it gets murky but he’s up there still with his repeated display on eye pokes. That’s not counting dirty moves like the oblique kick (should be banned).
