Jon is in a 6 fight contract with the ufc. He wants fuck you money to fight Aspinall. Probably 20 million. The ufc has never and will never pay anyone that much money so why should Jon take a more dangerous fight for the same pay? With the ufcs pay model, why should any fighter take anything but the easiest match up.

Give it some time. People aren’t going to remember Jones for ducking the Aspinall fight. Especially once Tom loses again. It’s not like Tom is an undefeated fighter. Hes on a good streak but after Jones vacates, the title will be passed around like it always has at heavyweight.
